Did You Know?
The Anchorage Chamber of Commerce recognizes the efforts of its local Armed Forces each year during Military Appreciation Week, held June 10 to 14.
During the week, many members hang service flags from their car or business windows to show their appreciation, or offer special Hot Deal and Member to Member discounts to servicemen and women, as well as other Anchorage Chamber members. Visit Anchoragechamber.org for details on Military Appreciation Week and show your support!
The Anchorage Chamber's Military Appreciation Week (June 10 to 14) is designed to give the local business community an opportunity to show their support for service members in the Anchorage area.
The visual of 400 business leaders and military personnel in the same room sends a strong message about the close ties between the two.
All branches of the Armed Forces will be present and honored for their service to Alaska.
Door prizes will be given out to the servicemen and women in attendance, including two anywhere Alaska Airline tickets!
Col. Brian Duffy, Commander, JBER, is confirmed as this year's keynote speaker.
Purchase a table (seats ten) and fill it with your employees, or donate seats to the Armed Forces! Join us to help celebrate our Armed Forces at the Military Appreciation Luncheon!
Give 'thank you' gifts for the military at the lunch
During the Military Appreciation Luncheon, 200 plus servicemen and women are honored for their service to our community. This includes a door prize raffle, exclusive to the military members, at the end of the program.
The Anchorage Chamber asks its businesses to donate an item, or items, as door prizes for the servicemen and women in attendance.
In the past, we have assembled gift packages or baskets containing items centering on a theme, or groups of prizes that complement each other.
For example, some of last year's door prize packages included:
Airline tickets
Hotel overnight stays and tickets to performances being held in Anchorage
Passes to local activities, such as trolley tours, UAA's Planetarium, the Alaska Zoo, and local sporting events
Passes to local arts and entertainment such as music concerts and plays
and gift cards
When you donate a door prize, your generous donation will be recognized during the luncheon, and you will help us thank our service members with a truly memorable event.
To donate door prizes for this event, please contact Magen James at 677-7111 before the end of the day.
