Governor Parnell Signs Fiscal Year 2014 Budget


Includes Priority Projects for the Anchorage Area

May 21, 2013, Anchorage, Alaska – Governor Sean Parnell today signed the FY 2014 capital budget that continues his commitment to economic development across the state. The budget includes numerous projects for the Anchorage area.

“Our priorities are jobs and economic opportunities for Alaskans,” Governor Parnell said. “Infrastructure development and energy projects assist our efforts to increase resource development and support Alaska’s private-sector businesses.”

Highlights of capital projects in the Anchorage area include:


Susitna-Watana Hydroelectric Project                                               $95.2 million

Anchorage - Project 80's deferred and critical maintenance                 $37 million

Seward Highway - MP 99 - 104 - Bird and Indian improvements            $36 million

Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport - airfield pavement           $25.4 million
  reconstruction and maintenance

AHFC San Roberto/Mountain View development                                 $25.2 million

AMATS - O'Malley Road reconstruction                                              $20.5 million

Anchorage - U-Med District northern access                                       $20 million

Anchorage - residential pavement rehabilitation                                   $7.5 million

Anchorage - International Airport Road – South Aircraft Drive/               $5 million
  Postmark Drive to Electron Drive pavement preservation

Anchorage - pavement rehab matching program                                  $3 million

Anchorage - Toilsome Hill Drive/Glen Alps Road, Canyon Road                 $3 million
  improvements phase II

Anchorage - Pioneer Drive upgrade                                                   $2.4 million

Anchorage - design upgrades to Yosemite Drive                                 $1.9 million

Anchorage - intersection safety and congestion relief matching             $1.5 million
