Farmers Markets Opening Soon Statewide
(Palmer, AK) – Alaska farmers markets are now opening for business and the Division of Agriculture is pleased to report that a number of new markets are available to consumers this year.
New markets opening this year include the Ketchikan Farmers Market, the Anchor Point Farmers Market & Swap Meet, the Cooper Landing Second Saturday Market, the Farmers Fresh Market in Soldotna, the Glennallen Farmers Market, the Market in Petersburg, and the Wasilla Marketplace.
Statewide, 35 markets provide locally-grown vegetables, flowers, seafood, preserves, spices, crafts and more. Many also offer entertainment and children’s activities. For a full list and maps of the markets, go to the Division of Agriculture website at www.dnr.alaska.gov/ag.
