UAA Students Partner with Bean's Café to create Inventory Tracking System
Bean's receives support from so many wonderful donors throughout the community, but when it comes to keeping track of these donations, the current system falls a bit short. UAA students Ryan Chonka, Angel Solomon, and Alisa Bagaeva have created a database specifically for Bean's that they believe will streamline the inventory process.
Introducing the New Culinary Job Training Program!
Bean's Café has provided meals to hungry people throughout Anchorage since 1979. Now, clients will have a chance to cook for Bean's! The Culinary Job Training Program will provide skills to the unemployed and those in crisis.
This is an exciting year for our upcoming 2013 summer projects. Bean's Café has identified some needed upgrades and equipment this summer. The kitchen is seeking community support for a 60 gal Steam Kettle and misc. small wares. The dining hall needs a new public address system so that we can communicate with the clients and effectively address people at our town hall meetings. Also the kitchen is in need of new metal lockers for the volunteers to utilize, a commercial ice machine and some roll top chafers.
The Children's Lunchbox is in need of a new 3 door commercial fridge and also some Cambro Pan Carriers and a new food processor for their growing need.
We would hope that you could help us with a donation to help us, feel free to designate what area you would like to support on the donation page.
What Would We Do without People Like You?
We are so fortunate to receive support from the our incredible community whether fund, in-kind or volunteering every bit helps to make our community a wonderful place to call home.
