Usibelli Names Weaver Vice President Finance and CFO

Usibelli Coal Mine’s President, Joe Usibelli Jr., recently announced the promotion of Glen Weaver as Vice President Finance and Chief Financial Officer for Usibelli Coal Mine (UCM). Weaver replaces Rick Hundrup, who retired after 35 years with UCM. Weaver will have responsibility for finance and administration of UCM and several affiliated companies.
Weaver was born and raised in Fairbanks. He attended the University of Alaska Fairbanks, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BBA-Accounting degree in 1991. He worked at Cook & Haugeberg, CPA’s and Northern Schools Federal Credit Union prior to joining UCM in 1999. Weaver is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Alaska Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Alaska Miners Association.

Mr. Weaver and his wife, Laura, are proud parents of son, Jack and have four dogs. He enjoys spending time with family and friends, travel, and coaching and playing hockey.
Usibelli Coal Mine is the only operating coal mine in Alaska and is located in Healy. UCM was founded in 1943. The mine operates year round with approximately 144 employees and estimates an annual production during 2012 of approximately 2.4 million tons of coal. UCM supplies coal for six power plants in Alaska and also exports coal through the Port of Seward to South Korea and South America.
