Murkowski Morning Meeting, 5/25/2012 -- Spotlighting Alaska's Veteran Heroes
Memorial Day Weekend
On behalf of Senator Lisa Murkowski and the entire Murkowski Morning Meeting team, we wish everyone a great Memorial Day.
Do you know an Alaska military hero? Today, Senator Murkowski unveils her “Veteran Spotlight” interview series with Alaskans who fought to protect our country’s freedoms. If you have a relative, friend or member of your community that you think has a great story to share, please submit that person’s name and contact information to Spotlight@Murkowski.Senate.gov
Today the series premieres with the story of Harold Bahr, a member of the Alaska Territorial Guard and a veteran of the Korean War.

The “Veteran Spotlight” project is a monthly focus on an Alaska veteran of our conflicts worldwide to honor and draw the well-deserved attention to Alaska’s men and women who served. Every month, the Senator will post a biography and an interview with an Alaskan who served our country abroad, in conjunction with the Library of Congress’ Veterans History Project.
Senator Murkowski also wanted to share a personal message with all Alaskans in honor of this holiday.
