Governor Mourns Loss of JBER Soldier
Governor Sean Parnell offered his condolences to the family and friends of U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Thomas Kent Fogarty who died from injuries sustained when enemy forces attacked his vehicle with an improvised explosive device in Ahmad-Kheyl, Afghanistan. Three other soldiers were wounded in the attack.
"We honor Sergeant Fogarty’s dedication and commitment to our country.” Governor Parnell said. “Sandy and I send our condolences to the family of this fallen hero. We will keep all of our men and women overseas in our thoughts and prayers.”
Fogarty was assigned to the 3rd Battalion (Airborne), 509th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division.
