Sen. Begich is a Hit on YouTube Town Hall

Today YouTube launched a new initiative to connect Americans with elected officials called the YouTube Town Hall.

The project allows elected officials to submit webvideos answering particular policy questions.

Sen. Begich has submitted a video tackling a question about America's future sources of energy, Alaska's role, and how to promote development of oil and gas.

You can view the video here:

Sen. Begich's video has already been noted in The Hill:

According to YouTube, the first issues addressed - budget, economy, energy, Afghanistan, education and healthcare - were among the most popular on Google News and Google search results over the past year.

Currently atop the leaderboard of most-supported videos is Sen. Mark Begich (D-Alaska), followed by Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and Rep. Doc Hastings (R-Wash.).

This new feature is currently being promoted on YouTube's homepage.
