AIDEA and AEA Mourn Loss of Former Executive DirectorRon Miller Led Authorities from 2003 to 2008
(Anchorage) -The Alaska Industrial Development and Export Authority (AIDEA) and Alaska Energy Authority (AEA) Board of Directors, management and staff offer our condolences to the family of former Executive Director Ron Miller, who died unexpectedly yesterday in Anchorage at the age of 65.
Miller served as AIDEA and AEA Executive Director from January 2003 to January 2008. He was well-respected by those with whom he worked, and was widely known for his intelligence, political acumen, and decency.
"Ron cared deeply about Alaska's economic development and energy security, and we are grateful for the leadership he demonstrated during his watch," said AIDEA and AEA Board Chairman Hugh Short. "We are profoundly saddened to learn of this loss. Our hearts go out to his wife and children at this difficult time."
Ron Miller was serving as Executive Director of the Alaska Redistricting Board at the time of his death.
