Stroller Strides of Anchorage & Eagle River Offers New Moms More Fun Through Fitness with Mother's Day Celebration

Anchorage & Eagle River, Alaska (Grassroots Newswire) May 6 -- For the perfect cure for new moms looking for variety in their fitness regimen, Stroller Strides of Anchorage & Eagle River is proud to offer Mother's Day Celebration, which will be held on Tuesday, May 11 at Goose Lake Park at 10:00AM.

Unique to the Stroller Strides of Anchorage & Eagle River, the Mother's Day Celebration offers new moms a chance to see what Stroller Strides is all about at a free class. There will be a challenging workout focused on the special needs of moms followed by a playgroup with refreshements, goody bags, raffle prizes, and membership specials. Moms new to the Stroller Strides program (and their babies!) are invited to attend, as well as those already enrolled in ongoing classes.

"Any fitness program can benefit from a little variety!" said Kristy Clay, franchisee of Stroller Strides of Anchorage & Eagle River. "This is a fun way to introduce that variety without compromising Stroller Strides’ overall goal of offering a great way to get fit while enjoying the support of other parents experiencing the newness, joys and challenges of having a baby."

Stroller Strides is a unique fitness program for new moms incorporating both the baby and a stroller.  In 60 minutes, participants will get a total body workout, improving cardiovascular endurance, strength and flexibility. Along with walking, Stroller Strides uses the environment as a gym by doing intervals of body toning using exercise tubing and the stroller.

In addition to offering fitness classes, Stroller Strides of Anchorage & Eagle River also offers specialty classes like Mother's Day Celebration as well as weekly playgroups at the parks and Moms Night Out. This months Moms Night Out will be a pedicure night to help moms enjoy some relaxation and get to know other women. The summer schedule of classes includes classes at the Alaska Zoo and downtown classes followed by Music in the Park.

"Having a group of parents who are going through the same amazing and exhausting experience of living with a baby is so important," said Clay.  "If you have a great support system, everything else, including fitness, is so much easier."
