Rep. Gruenberg Looks Nationally for New Alaska Solutions
Legislator only Alaskan official to attend national meeting
NEW YORK – Representative Max Gruenberg (D-Anchorage) attended a meeting of state officials from across the nation in New York City today to discuss new solutions for local communities.“It’s exciting to get fresh ideas from other states,” said Rep. Gruenberg. “My hope is that this will spawn innovative ideas I can bring back to Alaska to improve neighborhood safety, education and local opportunities.” At the meeting, the Council of State Governments (CSG) Committee on Suggested Legislation reviewed 92 ideas in 26 categories for potential legislation. The committee determined whether to reject, defer for further consideration, or include these potential bills in the 2011 edition of the CSG Suggested State Legislation volume. CSG makes the volume available to all state legislatures across the country.
