Regional State Farm Office Wins National Award for Outstanding Employee Publication
DuPont, WA. May 27, 2010—An employee magazine produced by State Farm’s Pacific Northwest Zone Communications team has won the McMurry Communications 2010 E2E (Employee to Employee) Communications Award. Timberlines, an internal publication distributed bi-monthly to over 3000 State Farm employees, agents, and retirees in the Pacific Northwest, was among the outstanding internal business communication pieces honored at the Employee Engagement, Social Media, and HR 2010 Conference in Chicago May 12-13. It competed against employee communications from Walgreens, Pepsi, Bank of America, and others.
The E2E Communication Awards began in 2008 as the only awards program dedicated solely to the celebration of internal communication. The honor recognizes innovative media demonstrating the effectiveness of timely, candid, free-flowing communications in transforming and sustaining corporate cultures. Workforce communications from companies of all sizes are eligible for consideration. This is the second E2E award for Timberlines, which was also honored in 2008.
Timberlines Editor Suzanne Cross leads a collaborative team of seven writers, graphic designers, and photographers to produce the magazine for State Farm associates in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Hawaii, and Alaska. The publication’s articles highlight State Farm’s philosophies on leadership, customer service, and effective business management. “Timberlines is an extremely important business tool for the Pacific Northwest Zone,” says Cross. “It helps our employees and agents understand where they fit in achieving the company’s objective: to be our customers’ first and best choice for the products and services State Farm provides.”
Indeed, survey results of the associates in State Farm’s Pacific Northwest Zone are the key reason Timberlines received the E2E award. Ninety-five percent of survey respondents said Timberlines helps “understand company goals and how I can impact those goals.”
