IRS Open House Event on June 5
Seattle – The Internal Revenue Service will host a nationwide Open House event on Saturday, June 5, to provide help to individual taxpayers dealing with notices and payments, return preparation and a variety of other tax issues.
Over 200 IRS offices, at least one in every state, will be open on June 5 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. local time. IRS staff will be available on site or by telephone to help taxpayers.
“The focus of this Open House event is problem resolution,” said IRS spokesman David Tucker II. “We want taxpayers to have the opportunity to work directly with our IRS staff during these special Saturday hours and have their tax issues solved.”
The IRSTaxAssistanceCenter in Anchorage will be open to provide Saturday service. All locations will be equipped to handle a variety of tax issues. For example, a taxpayer who cannot pay a tax balance due can discuss with an IRS professional whether an installment agreement is appropriate and, if so, fill out the necessary paperwork then and there. Assistance with offers-in-compromise will also be available.
The Anchorage Tax Assistance Center is located at 949 E. 36th Avenue.
