Free Car-Seat Inspections Keep Kids Riding Safe

Anchorage, Alaska, May 15, 2010—Car crashes are the leading cause of death and injury to children, but using car-seats appropriately can greatly reduce the risk.

Certified car-seat technicians from Safe Kids and Mat-Su Services for Children and Adults will inspect child safety seats for proper fit and installation from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. this Saturday, May 15, at Linda Brandon’s State Farm office-436 N Main Street in Wasilla. There is no cost to parents or caregivers for these inspections.

The inspections are part of State Farm Child Safety Days, which take place from May to September and focus on child passenger safety. This is the 10th year State Farm has collaborated with child passenger safety experts across the country to help increase awareness about simple steps that can reduce the risk of crash-related death or injury to children.
