Flint Hills Resources Alaska Names New Refinery Manager

North Pole, Alaska – Mike Brose has been named Vice President of Alaska Operations and Refinery Manager of Flint Hills Resources Alaska’s North Pole Refinery. Brose began overseeing operations at the 220,000 barrel-per-day crude oil refinery on May 1.

“Mike brings strong refining knowledge and management skills to our operation in Alaska,” said Jeff Wilkes, executive vice president of operations. “He will help guide our team as we continue to efficiently produce fuels and other products for our customers in Alaska.”

Brose had been focusing on Technical Services and Organization Development since he moved to the North Pole refinery in 2009, from the company’s plant in Rosemount, Minn. He has been with Flint Hills since 1998 in a number of engineering and leadership roles.  His family includes wife Lisa, and three children who have all quickly become part of the Fairbanks community.  As a family they are involved with youth hockey and soccer programs, the dramatic arts, St. Raphael’s Parrish and Watershed School.

Brose replaces Mark Gregory who is transferring to Flint Hills Resources’ Corpus Christi, Texas, refinery.

Flint Hills Resources Alaska acquired the North Pole refinery in 2004; the refinery has been operating for more than 30 years.

Flint Hills Resources is a leading producer of fuels and other petrochemical products. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Koch Industries, Inc.  For more information, see www.fhr.com.
