Alaska Distillery Announces The Release of its Newest Product: Smoked Salmon Flavored Vodka


Anchorage/Wasilla - Alaska Distillery, the state’s first local vodka producer, announces the release of their newest product, Smoked Salmon Flavored Vodka. It is the first Smoked Salmon flavored vodka ever produced and has a rare and complex character.

The Distillery’s focus is to produce handcrafted ultra premium spirits utilizing ingredients and flavors that are indigenous to Alaska such as glacier ice naturally harvested from Prince William Sound, berries, and now smoked salmon.

Alaska Distillery’s Smoked Salmon Vodka is flavored with real Alaskan smoked salmon.  The distillery uses its trademarked distillation process to create this rare vodka with a distinctive smoky, savory taste.  It is the perfect addition to a Bloody Mary cocktail or served straight from the freezer accompanied by a cheese plate.

Although, it may sound a little strange, it is receiving attention from around the country.  In fact, the product is ready to hit the shelves in Texas soon.  In Alaska, it will soon be available in the Mat-Su Valley, Anchorage, Fairbanks, and Juneau.

Alaskans Toby Foster, Scotti MacDonald, Shawn Ansley and Winston Chelf founded Alaska Distillery in 2005. The distillery’s trademarked distillation process includes pristine glacial ice naturally harvested from the waters of Prince William Sound.  Their first product, Permafrost Alaska Vodka, received the Beverage Testing Institute (BTI) Platinum Medal at the 2009 International Review of Spirits competition, held in Chicago, Illinois. BTI gave the Wasilla-made vodka a beverage tasting rating of 96% and described it as “…superlative. An exceptionally clean, seamless, and delicious vodka. Amazing!”  In, 2009, the Frostbite line was introduced, featuring Frostbite Vodka, and three infused flavors, raspberry, cranberry and blueberry.  Alaska Distillery is dedicated to producing handcrafted ultra premium spirits.
