Natural History lecture on Nature of Southeast Alaska
The next Natural History Seminar will feature Richard Carstensen and Bob Armstrong presenting "The Nature of Southeast Alaska" Thursday, March 13th at 7:30pm at UAS room 229.
Richard Carstensen, Bob Armstrong and Rita O’Clair have written a new edition of their book The Nature of Southeast Alaska. More than twenty years have passed since the book was first published—years that have seen huge advances, not only in understanding of northwest-coast natural history, but also in the world of publishing. They have added more than a hundred new drawings, maps and photos, fifty-two new sidebars, and made sweeping updates and elaborations to chapter narratives. Richard and Bob will show slides and discuss what was most interesting and exciting to them in putting together this new edition.
Funding for the seminar series is provided by a grant to the Sitka Sound Science Center by the Sitka Permanent Charitable Trust and by support from the University of Alaska.
