Moffatt & Nichol Welcomes Paul Wallis, PE, SE, MLSE as Senior Structural Engineer
Anchorage, AK, March 20, 2014 – Moffatt & Nichol is pleased to announce Paul Wallis, PE, SE, MLSE has joined Moffatt & Nichol’s Anchorage office as a Senior Structural Engineer. With over 16 years of experience with structural design and the analysis of new and existing building and non-building systems, he is well versed in high-seismic and high-wind design and analysis and Arctic, sub-Arctic and Antarctic project engineering. Mr. Wallis will be a valuable asset to Moffatt & Nichol’s Anchorage team where he will lead projects as the firm continues to grow in the area.
Mr. Wallis also brings a strong understanding of project management on a variety of projects. This includes the investigation and design of existing and new marine facilities; vertical construction ranging from warehouses, hangars and general office space to a variety of industrial and military facilities; and upstream oil and gas field facilities. Clients have included numerous municipalities, the United States Army National Guard, United States Air Force, United States Army Corp of Engineers and the National Science Foundation.
A registered Professional Engineer and Structural Engineer, Mr. Wallis received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Alaska, Fairbanks. He is also a National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying certified Model Law Structural Engineer (MLSE). Additionally, he is an active member of both the Structural Engineers Association of Alaska (SEAAK) and the Alaska Professional Design Council (APDC), currently serving as President for both bodies. Other professional organization involvement includes the American Institute of Steel Construction and the American Society of Civil Engineers.
