GeoNorth New Hires Add to Talented Staff of Developers

Anchorage - GeoNorth, one of the nation's premier Information Technology custom application solutions providers, has announced the hiring of several new key personnel as additions to their staff of on and off site managers and developers.

Ken Juengling, a GISP with over 20+ years of high level GIS project management and application development expertise, recently accepted the position of Sr. GIS Project Manager with GeoNorth.  Located in the Washington, DC area, Juengling has an MBA in Business Administration, a BS in GIS, Remote Sensing, and Cartography, is a Certified Technical Trainer in CompTIA, is a Certified GIS Professional (GISP), and has logged countless hours as an Authorized ESRI Trainer. Juengling has supported various federal, state, and local government clients and utilities across the nation throughout his accomplished career. Juengling has also published several articles over the years supporting the GIS profession, has presented to and trained a long list of GIS professionals. and has been actively involved in various GIS Board and User Group roles.

With a B.S. Degree in Geography and a minor in GIS from George Mason University, Drew Hopwood has accepted the position of Technical Sales Engineer with GeoNorth.  Also located in the Washington, DC area, Hopwood hired in with GeoNorth after 10 years of satellite programming, project management, and technical sales experience supporting and selling satellite imagery to government and commercial clients for Airbus Defense and Space (formerly Astrium). Hopwood's deep expertise in the satellite imagery market will be a strong asset supporting GeoNorth's recently announced imagery capabilities as a Direct Receiving Station downlink facility.

James Wortley, with over 20 years of database design, development, and management experience, has also joined GeoNorth as their new Sr. Programmer/Analyst. Wortley as a MS Degree in Electrical Engineering from John Hopkins University, and a BS Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington. Wortley operates remotely out of GeoNorth's Fairbanks, Alaska location.

Sean Merritt, operating remotely out of Bozeman, Montana, has recently accepted the position of Sr. Programmer/Analyst with GeoNorth. Merritt has 10 years of experience with various state government agencies throughout Alaska, a host of utility organizations including natural gas companies and telecommunications firms, railroad companies, and gas pipeline companies. Merritt has a BS in Computer Science from the University of Alaska Anchorage.

One of GeoNorth's most recent new hires, Joshua Tester, with a BS Degree in Computer Science from the University of Alaska, Anchorage, has hired in with GeoNorth as a Web Application Developer. Along with other IT application development projects, Tester's background also includes various roles with the United States Coast Guard as a rated IT and Petty Officer.
