GCI Announces Exclusive, Original Coverage of 2014 Arctic Winter Games
Anchorage, Alaska – GCI is bringing the 2014 Arctic Winter Games into homes across Alaska as part of its ongoing commitment to provide unique, relevant programming to its customers. GCI will offer exclusive broadcasting of exciting moments from the Arctic Winter Games on GCI Channel 1.
Programming will kick off on Sunday, March 16 with a live broadcast and streaming of the Arctic Winter Games opening ceremony. GCI will air daily recaps from March 17 – 21 at 10:30 p.m., and live coverage of the closing ceremonies will be broadcast on Saturday, March 22 at 6 p.m. In addition to being available on GCI Channel 1, these special events can be viewed on Alaska On Demand channel 777. Viewers can also stream live footage of the Arctic Winter Games at http://www.gci.com/tv/gci-channel-1.

The Arctic Winter Games, founded in 1969, are held once every two years and are the premier circumpolar sport competition for northern and arctic athletes. The games will be held in Fairbanks this year and include 20 different winter sports.
