29th Annual Sham Jam Supports Local Charity
Event on Saturday, March 15th at the Canvas
JUNEAU - The Alaska Young Democrats are hosting their annual fundraiser, Sham Jam, on Saturday, March 15th at 8:00 PM at the Canvas.
Sham Jam is a long-standing event offering residents of Juneau, legislative staff and legislators an opportunity to socialize, celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, and give back to the community. The Alaska Young Democrats, including many legislative staff, are responsible for the planning and promotion of this charitable event. This year will be the 29th anniversary of Sham Jam. Most importantly, the proceeds support local charitable organizations.
This year’s Sham Jam will benefit the Canvas, which supports people with disabilities and provides studio, pottery, and gallery facilities for the Juneau arts community.
“The Canvas fosters a life-long discovery of the arts for both adults with disabilities and the general public,” said Rep. Sam Kito III (D-Juneau), “They are a valuable member of Juneau’s community.”
