New Branch Manager Joins APL Staff
Gretchen Krug is the new Branch Coordinator for Anchorage Public Library. She will supervise the Chugiak-Eagle River, Gerrish in Girdwood, Samson-Dimond, Mountain View, Muldoon and the future Downtown branches.
Since receiving her MLS from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor 15 years ago, she has worked in the library field. For the past five years, she was the South Branch Manager of Clinton-Macomb Public Library. Her undergraduate degree in English is from Randolph-Macon Woman's College in Virginia, now known as Randolph College.
Gretchen is excited about living in Alaska having spent several vacations here.
“I'm originally from the west side of Michigan where they receive considerably more snow from lake effect than metro-Detroit where I've lived the past 12 years. Hopefully that makes me well prepared for Alaska's winters!”
