Granite Hires Northwest Operating Group Business Development Manager
In January, Joe Spink, Alaska Region Manager, began his transition to the new role of Northwest Operating Group Business Development Manager. Granite’s Northwest Group includes Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Nevada, and Utah.
Joe began his career with Wilder in 1991 after graduating from the University of Washington with a degree in Civil Engineering. He received his Professional Engineer license in 1997. Joe joined Granite during the acquisition of Wilder and assumed the role as the Alaska Region Manager in early 2008. Joe will be relocating to Granite’s Northwest Group office in Salt Lake City in 2013.
Effective January 5th, Derek Betts became the new Alaska Region Manager. Derek was the Nevada Region Construction Manager and has been with Granite for 17 years and has served in a variety of roles in Granite’s Nevada Region.
Derek began his career with Granite in 1995 after graduating from Oregon State University with a degree in Construction Engineering Management. He progressed through the ranks in Nevada and was the Carson Area & Desert Operations Manager before becoming the Public Works Manager and Construction Manager. Derek has a strong background in portable construction work which will serve the Alaska Region well due to the variety of remote projects we pursue in the Region.
