Fairbanks Chamber Of Commerce Announces 2013 Golden Days Theme: “Gold Fashioned Fun”
The general membership of the Greater Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce has selected “Gold Fashioned Fun” as the 2013 Golden Days official theme. Those in attendance at the Chamber’s Annual Membership Meeting were able to vote with real-time voting devices provided by Information Insights.
The Chamber held a Golden Days theme contest receiving hundreds of suggested themes from not only the membership, but the entire community. “It’s exciting to have received so many suggestions this year. We aim to get the community involved and supportive of one of the summer’s premier summer attractions,” said Lisa Herbert, Executive Director of the Chamber.
The winning theme was submitted by Nancy Gigliotti of Fairbanks. When the Chamber contacted her to tell her she won—she was overjoyed! Having participated and enjoyed the event for several years, Nancy was excited to be involved in a new way. Prizes were awarded for the top three themes with the first place prize receiving an overnight stay for two at Chena Hot Springs Resort.
Golden Days packs five full days of events and celebration paying tribute to our rich, golden history and the founding of Fairbanks. This year, Golden Days will be held July 17 – 21. The event promises to offer something for everyone—parade, duck race, street fair, kids day, comedy night—it’s fun for the whole family all week long!
The Chamber encourages the community to get involved—host your own Golden Days event, volunteer to sell Rubber Duckie Race tickets, become an event sponsor or join the planning committee. If you would like to be involved in Golden Days, please contact Elisabeth Dabney, Marketing Coordinator at (907) 374-6702 or Elisabeth@FairbanksChamber.org
With the theme decided the Chamber was able to create a 2013 Golden Days logo. The logo can be viewed on the Chamber’s website or on our Facebook page. We encourage the community to “like” our page to stay up-to-date on Golden Days activities and events.
