New Alaska 511 Twitter Handle for Statewide Driving Conditions

The statewide 511 account will tweet Very Difficult and/or Hazardous driving conditions and incidents. The tweets are also linked to the Alaska 511 Facebook page, thus providing another user-friendly format online to receive timely information.

Travelers can follow either the statewide handle @alaska511 or any of the following area-wide 511 Twitter accounts: ak511_Anchorage, ak511_Fairbanks, ak511_Southeast, ak511_Peninsula, ak511_Mat-Su, ak511_Tok, ak511_Tazlina, ak511_Valdez, ak511_Dalton, and ak511_Denali.

Before heading out drivers are encouraged to dial 5-1-1 from any phone in Alaska or view one of three online options for statewide driving condition updates: @alaska511 on Twitter, facebook.com/Alaska511 or 511.alaska.gov.

Alaska 511 is also available for mobile devices via the iPhone/iPad App available on iTunes or by the mobile-ready website m.511.alaska.gov. Drivers are advised to check their mobile devices before starting their vehicle or while completely stopped.
