Anchorage Snow Removal Report March 29, 2012
No additional snow has fallen in the past 24 hours. Residential plowing will continue in various areas of town where necessary. The plowing is not following a Plow Plan A or B. Snow hauling operations in residential areas will continue along with blowback and other push back operations in preparation of spring break up. Additionally crews are clearing snow from drainage structures and using steam boilers to thaw frozen storm drain systems in preparation of break up. Pothole patching crews are also working both day and night shift. Crews are continuing to work a 5-10s schedule both day and night shifts.
10 graders are plowing area wide residential streets.

South of DeBarr Rd/ East of Airport Heights Blvd.

Budget expended on snow removal from (Oct 2010 to Mar 23, 2011): $8,168,272.
*Please note this only reflects payroll through 3-11-12. Contractual services (snow hauling trucks) costs are current to 3-23-12. It is also important to remember many large roads, such as Debarr, Muldoon, Tudor, Minnesota, and the main roads on the hillside are State owned and maintained.
