REDISTRICTING UPDATE: Census Bureau Ships 2010 Census Redistricting Data to Alaska
Anchorage, AK - The Census Bureau announced today that it has shipped 2010 Census redistricting data to the Alaska Redistricting Board, the governor and state legislative leadership.
The Alaska Redistricting Board anticipates that the data will be delivered to its Anchorage office on Tuesday, March 15, 2011. As mandated by the Alaska Constitution, once the data are received the Board will have 30 days to adopt a draft plan or plans and 60 days after that to adopt a final plan.
According to the Census Bureau, the data will be released to the public at approximately 10:00 a.m. AKST on Wednesday, March 16, 2011. At that time, the data will be made available for public download at <http://www2.census.gov/census_2010/01-Redistricting_File--PL_94-171/>.
