Press Release: Credit Union 1 President/CEO Elected Board Chair of ACLTAnchorage, AK – March 15, 2011 – Credit Union 1 (CU1) President/CEO Leslie Ellis has been elected as the Board Chair for the Anchorage Community Land Trust (ACLT), replacing outgoing Board Chair George Cannelos. ACLT works as both a land trust and community development organization, with its central activities focused on the revitalization and cultivation of the Mountain View neighborhood as a hub for artistic expression and cultural exchange. ACLT acquires and develops strategic properties in the area, including the property sold to Credit Union 1 that is now home to the Mountain View Branch. Among other properties, ACLT owns the Mountain View Service Center that houses many local non-profit agencies, as well as the Mountain View Diner. Don Crandall was elected to serve as Vice-Chair, Angela Jimenez as Secretary, and Francis Mahoney will continue as Treasurer.
