Governor’s Child Exploitation Bill Passes House Judiciary Committee
March 11, 2011, Juneau, Alaska – Governor Sean Parnell today thanked the House Judiciary Committee for passing House Bill 127. The legislation, sponsored by Governor Parnell, strengthens laws related to sexual exploitation and stalking, passed the committee with no opposition.
“I appreciate the House Judiciary Committee’s action moving HB 127 to the House Finance Committee,” Governor Parnell said. “This bill will protect Alaska’s children against abuse, exploitation and fear. In light of the rapidly changing world of communication and social networking, laws are needed to protect children against those who seek to prey upon them.”
