Governor Parnell to Speak at Cruise Shipping Miami 2011

Along with many members of AlaskaACT, Governor Sean Parnell will be attending Cruise Shipping (SEATRADE) in Miami again this year.  Governor Parnell will speak during the State of the Industry address on Tuesday, March 15 at the Miami Convention Center.
"This is a great show of support and respect for Alaska's tourism industry," said Bob Berto, President of AlaskaACT.  "Governor Parnell wants to show the world that Alaska is open for business and that actions speak louder than words."
In 2010 Governor Parnell, AlaskaACT, the Alaska Travel Industry Association and the Alaska Cruise Association all banded together to help reduce the statewide $50 head tax.
Alaska will be welcoming 27 cruise ships to Alaska in the 2011 season and expects a 1.6% increase in passenger capacity from 2010.  2011 Cruise Ship Calendars can be downloaded at www.claalaska.com.
