Begich Statement on Vote for Continuing Resolution
U.S. Sen. Mark Begich today released the following statement after voting with the Senate for an extension of the Continuing Resolution which will fund government operations for three more weeks.
"I am disappointed that we continue to run government in two and three-week intervals, as I've said many times this is no way to run the country.
"But I recognize we need to keep moving forward, and focus on the real job of passing a long-term budget that is the result of thoughtful debate and discussion, not political posturing and sound bites.
"I will continue my focus of working with my colleagues in passing a budget that protects the economic recovery, helps small businesses grow and create jobs and puts us on a path of financial stability."
