Alaska ranked 6th for fraud-related complaints with 2,638 and 43rd for identity theft complaints with 313 in 2009, according to the Federal Trade Commission's 2009 Consumer Sentinel Network Data Book. Compared to other cities nationwide, the Anchorage area ranked 28th in fraud-related complaints and 334th in identity theft complaints in 2009.
