Railroad extends Ice Alaska deadline by two months

Extension to provide time to refine options
ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Alaska Railroad Vice President of Real Estate Jim Kubitz and Fairbanks North Star Borough Mayor Luke Hopkins reached an agreement today to extend a deadline that allows Ice Alaska to remain on railroad property until June 1, 2010.
The two-month extension will provide time for the railroad and borough to continue discussions and negotiations regarding options for Ice Alaska to continue to organize this renowned event in Fairbanks.
