Governor Parnell Orders Flags Lowered for Former Lawmaker
March 23, 2010, Anchorage, Alaska - Governor Sean Parnell ordered flags to be lowered to half-staff on Thursday in honor and memory of former Senator Wray E. "Brad" Bradley, who died March 20. He was 86.
"Senator Bradley will always be remembered for his tireless work on behalf of veterans," Governor Parnell said. "Sandy and I will keep his family and friends in our thoughts and prayers."
Bradley was elected to the Alaska Senate in 1975 and served until 1982. After his terms in the Legislature, he served on the Anchorage Assembly from 1985 to 1988. During his time on the assembly, Bradley sponsored legislation for the construction of the Anchorage Veterans Memorial on the Delaney Park Strip. Bradley was also instrumental in establishing the municipal Veterans Affairs Commission.
Governor Parnell has ordered state flags to be lowered to half-staff on Thursday, March 25. Flags will be raised to full-staff the following morning.
