Free Fairbanks Concert Highlights Native Influences On March 24



The University of Alaska Fairbanks will host a free concert and discussion highlighting Native influences on contemporary Alaska composers Wednesday, March 24th at 8:15 p.m. in the Davis Concert Hall.

“Alaskan Voices: A Confluence of Cultures” will feature composer Craig Coray. He will discuss the inspiration he finds in Alaska Native music and how it influences his work.

The concert will include Coray’s piano composition and a percussion piece by John Luther Adams. Performers include pianist Paul Krejci [KRE-chi], Ensemble 64.8 and dancers from the UAF Alaska Native Studies program.
