Credit Union 1 Earns National Accreditation
Anchorage, AK – March 15, 2010 – Credit Union 1’s on-site childcare facility has earned accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) – the nation’s leading organization of early childhood professionals. Credit Union 1 is now one of only fifteen certified locations in Alaska to receive this accreditation.
“We’re proud to have earned the mark of quality from NAEYC, and to be recognized for our commitment to reaching the highest professional standards,” said Leslie Ellis, President/CEO of Credit Union 1. “NAEYC Accreditation lets our employees know that their children are getting the best care and early learning experiences possible.” The credit union’s Little 1’s Learning Center, established in 2006, provides on-site childcare for employees’ children to help them balance the demands of work and family life.
“The NAEYC Accreditation system raises the bar for preschools, child care centers and other early childhood programs,” said Mark Ginsberg, Ph.D., executive director of NAEYC. “Credit Union 1’s NAEYC Accreditation is a sign that they are a leader in a national effort to invest in high-quality early childhood education, and to help give all children a better start.
