Anchorage Iditarod Road Closures & Traffic DelaysLast Updated March 1, 2010
In preparation for the 2010 Iditarod, the Municipality of Anchorage will be closing off several downtown streets for event set-up. In order to provide ample notice, 'No Parking' signs will be placed within the closure areas at least 48 hours in advance of the road closures. Any vehicles parked within the closure areas during the specified closure times will be towed at the owner's expense.

CLOSURES AND DETOURS
4th Ave. between I St. and Cordova St. and Cordova St. between 4th Ave. and 16th Ave. will be closed to the travelling public for the Iditarod event. Drivers should expect closures from Friday, March 5th at 5:00 PM through Saturday, March 6th at approximately 8:00 PM. The surrounding side streets will have limited access.
The following side streets will also be closed for Iditarod event staging:
H St., G St. and F St. between 3rd Ave. and 5th Ave.
E St. and D St. between 4th Ave. and 5th Ave.
Anchorage Police Department officers will be on traffic control detail for the duration of these events and will be able to assist drivers with directional instructions.
