Gather with fellow Alaska State Chamber members for an analysis of the Second session of the 26th Alaska State Legislature from the perspective of Alaska State Chamber of Commerce business leaders.
The luncheon will also host the candidates for Governor. They have been invited to share their vision of how they will improve the business climate in Alaska if elected.
Currently we have confirmed participation by candidates Bob Poe, Ralph Samuels, and Bill Walker. Invited are: Governor Sean Parnell, Senator Hollis French and Ethan Berkowitz.

Statewide "Choose Respect" Effort to Launch Wednesday
18 Communities Slated to Hold Simultaneous Events
March 30, 2010, Juneau, Alaska - In an ongoing effort to raise awareness of the epidemic of sexual assault and domestic violence in Alaska, the Parnell/Campbell administration, in partnership with the Alaska Network on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault, and along with other groups and communities across the state, will launch "Alaskans Choose Respect," at simultaneous statewide events on Wednesday, March 31.
The governor has challenged Alaskans to step up and choose respect to end these crimes that damage our state, families, children, communities, and cultures. Events ranging from marches to rallies and from candlelight vigils to potlatches are planned in at least 18 communities.
Attorney General Dan Sullivan and U.S. Senator Lisa Murkowski will lead other dignitaries in a march from the Delaney Park Strip to a rally at Town Square Park.

Lieutenant Governor Craig Campbell will lead a rally at the Golden Heart Plaza.

Governor Sean Parnell will lead the march from the steps of the Capitol to Marine Park.

The following communities also are holding events reflecting local resolve to pick up the challenge: Barrow, Bethel, Cordova, Craig, Dillingham, Gakona, Homer, Kenai, Ketchikan, Kodiak, the Mat-Su Valley, Sitka, Unalaska, Valdez and Wrangell.
