Alaska State Chamber members now have option to purchase a plan aimed at helping employees live healthier lifestyles

According to Foraker President and CEO Dennis McMillian, The Foraker Group Benefit Plan has been available to Partners of that organization for over a year. Local Agencies Promote Anchorage First
The Anchorage Economic Development Corporation (AEDC) along with the Anchorage Chamber of Commerce, the Anchorage Convention & Visitors Bureau, the Anchorage Downtown Partnership and the Chugiak/Eagle River Chamber of Commerce launched Anchorage First, a campaign targeting Alaska's quietest retail months. The campaign is meant to build consumer confidence and provide a boost to the local economy.
Campaign organizers are encouraging local residents to invest in the community by shopping locally, instead of online or out of state.
"We're not asking people to spend irresponsibly or beyond their means," says AEDC CEO & President Bill Popp. "While we are all aware of what the national headlines read, Anchorage is in a better position than most cities and this proactive campaign has great benefits for the community."
Businesses wishing to participate are encouraged to visit www.GoAnchorageFirst.com for campaign information as well as application and submission guidelines.
