Alaska Delegation Announces Grants to Alaska Programs

Washington, D.C. - The Alaska Congressional Delegation is pleased to announce the following grants awarded to communities in the State of Alaska:
U.S. Department of Agriculture:
- $185,442 to the Native Village of Nelson Lagoon. Funds will be used to replace the existing water intake facility.
- $10,600,000 loan to Kodiak Electric Association. Funds will be sued to serve 132 new consumers, build eight miles of new distribution lines, make improvements to six miles of distribution lines and make other system improvements.
U.S. Department of Transportation:
- $140,000 to the Manley Village Council to purchase one 35 foot bus that accommodates 24 passengers. Funding provided by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
