3rd Wing Commander selected for Brig. GeneralELMENDORF AIR FORCE BASE, Alaska - Col. Thomas W. Bergeson, 3rd Wing commander, has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general.
Bergeson assumed command of the 3rd Wing August 18, 2008. His prior assignments include flying duties as a Weapons School F-15 instructor pilot, flight commander, operations officer, squadron commander, operations group commander, vice wing commander, executive officer to the Air Combat Command commander and as the Chief of Aviation for Multi-National Forces Iraq's Strategic Operations Directorate. Bergeson is the 100th commander at Elmendorf.
