Van Le Earns AICP Certification
R&M CONSULTANTS, INC. (R&M) is pleased to announce Van Le, AICP has passed the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) exam, earning her AICP certification.
The AICP certification is administered by the American Planning Association, an independent, not-for-profit educational organization providing leadership in the development of vital communities. This certification provides recognition of a mastery of the principles, skills, knowledge and experience essential for a professional planner.
Van joined R&M in 2013 as a Senior Transportation and Land Use Planner. She has more than 11 years of planning experience in all aspects of local and regional planning and is a former Municipality of Anchorage Land Use Planner. She specializes in comprehensive and site-specific land use planning and permitting, policy research and analysis. Van is also a public involvement specialist with experience in effective and open communication style workshops and open houses to address issues, including neighborhood compatibility, traffic impacts, right-of-way, parking, environmental concerns, drainage and vehicular and non-motorized safety. Recent projects she has been involved with include master planning for the Valdez Municipal Harbor, the Eklutna River Bridge Replacement and the West Dimond Boulevard Upgrade. Van holds a M.S. in Environmental Sciences from Alaska Pacific University and a B.A. in Urban Geography from the University of British Columbia. She is a member of the American Planning Association, Women in Transportation Seminar, International Association for Public Participation and the Institute of Transportation Engineers Alaska.
