USTravel joins CTM in their North American Expansion
Anchorage, Alaska – USTravel announces they are joining Corporate Travel Management’s North American expansion plans as an acquisition effective July 1, 2014. USTravel will serve as CTM’s Alaska and Pacific Northwest division maintaining the same leadership team and staff providing service level excellence throughout the State of Alaska and PNW. Linda Eliason, who will maintain her role as President of USTravel and Julie Crotts, who will remain CEO, are both excited to continue to position USTravel and empower staff to be locally engaged in the Alaska and PNW business communities.
Leaning on his extensive travel management experience, 17 years ago, Mark Eliason purchased USTravel and with his wife, Linda Eliason and established the company as USTravel Alaska LLC building it into the largest independently owned travel management company in the Pacific Northwest through acquisitions and technology investments.
Over the years, USTravel and CTM, talked about combining resources so that USTravel could accelerate the growth of their business, brand, and culture. Mark Eliason (USTravel) and Jamie Pherous (CTM) discussed the many possibilities for leveraging each other’s strengths. Upon Mark Eliason’s passing in September 2013, Linda continued discussions and is eager to continue Mark’s Legacy of growth and excellence through this acquisition.
Linda Eliason says, “Becoming part of the wonderful team that CTM has built will allow us to enhance our product and service offering to our clients. USTravel employees will see new and exciting career opportunities evolve as a result of our future growth initiatives.”
“CTM has developed a unique culture of employee training, support and empowerment, which we’ve identified as a great match to our own culture and has a significant benefit in continuing to allow us to be creative and responsive in providing our clients with customized travel solutions.”
Julie Crotts adds, “We are so thrilled that this agreement is coming into fruition and all the positive things that it means for our employees, vendor partners and particularly our clients in the way of technology and global reach.”
CTM’s Managing Director, Jamie Pherous said, “We are delighted to have UST become our regional base for the Pacific Northwest. It possesses all the qualities that we look for, having a great service reputation, a dedicated team and great management.”
Romeo Cuter, CTM’s CEO of North America, continues, “By combining our successful and established offices in Colorado, Texas and Louisiana with the strong team in place at UST, we will be able to further leverage buying power, internal resources, client-facing solutions and support expertise moving forward. I am delighted to add the UST team to our growing national offering.”
The significant Alaskan resources industry is complementary to both CTM’s client base and established centers of excellence in Houston, Perth and Singapore while the emerging technology powerhouse of nearby Seattle plays into CTM’s technology driven product offering. USTravel’s extensive knowledge and expertise in the management of US Government travel also further compliments CTM’s government sector strategy throughout our global network.
