Governor Sean Parnell Signs Legislation

June 18, 2014, Anchorage, Alaska – Governor Sean Parnell today signed several bills into law.

  • SB 124, legislation that extends the sunset date for the Council on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault from June 30, 2014 to June 30, 2022. Senator Kevin Meyer sponsored the legislation.
  • HB 361, legislation that amends the licensing process for behavior analysts. Specifically, the bill defines the practice of behavior analysis, qualifications for licensing, authority to administer and renew licenses, exemptions to licensing, disciplinary sanctions, and the grounds for suspension/revocation/refusal to issue a license. Representative Dan Saddler sponsored the legislation.
  • HB 160, legislation that creates a state license for athletic trainers. Representative Steve Thompson sponsored the legislation.
  • HB 234, legislation that extends the termination date of the Regulatory Commission of Alaska from June 30, 2014 to June 30, 2022. Representative Mike Hawker sponsored the legislation.
  • HB 239, legislation that extends the termination date of the Board of Examiners in Optometry from June 30, 2014 to June 30, 2022. Representative Lora Reinbold sponsored the legislation.
  • HB 240, legislation that extends the termination date of the Board of Chiropractic Examiners from June 30, 2014 to June 30, 2022. Representative Lora Reinbold sponsored the legislation.
  • HB 241, legislation that extends the termination date of the Board of Marital and Family Therapy from June 30, 2014 to June 30, 2018. Representative Lora Reinbold sponsored the legislation.
  • HB 242, legislation that extends the Board of Physical and Occupational Therapists from June 30, 2014 to June 30, 2022. Representative Reinbold sponsored the legislation.
  • HB 127, legislation that provides several updates to the Ombudsman’s Act.
  • SB 129, legislation that extends the existing Board of Certified Real Estate Appraisers through June 30, 2018.
  • HB 135, legislation removing approximately 220 acres from the Petersville Recreational Mining Area, rectifying an error made by a previous administration. Representative Wes Keller sponsored the bill.
  • HB 244, legislation that extends the Citizens Advisory Commission on Federal Areas to June 30, 2021. Representative Wes Keller sponsored the bill.
  • SB 162, legislation that retains licensed optometrists’ ability to prescribe hydrocodone to patients. Senator Donny Olson sponsored the legislation.
