Edward Jones Recognized as 2014 Most Valuable Employer for Military by CivilianJobs.com

Firm hires 468 military veterans for financial advisor positions in 2013; sets 500 hiring goal for 2014

Financial services firm Edward Jones was named a 2014 Most Valuable Employer (MVE) for Military by CivilianJobs.com, recognizing the firm's deep commitment to recruiting, training and retaining military veterans as financial advisors.

"We are incredibly humbled by the recognition from CivilianJobs.com, an organization that shares our dedication to connect military veterans with civilian careers" said Financial Advisor Steve Padrick. "Veterans are trained to work collaboratively to find appropriate solutions in difficult situations. This transferable skill is extremely attractive to our firm, as our financial advisors are committed to providing solutions to help individual investors make important decisions about their financial lives."

Edward Jones recently celebrated the two-year anniversary of its FORCES program, a training and compensation package designed to make the transition to a financial services career more attractive to military veterans. Since its launch, the firm has hired 931 military veterans as financial advisors.

The firm has a long history of hiring and providing mentorship services to help transition servicemen and women to the financial advisor position. Currently, Edward Jones has 1,500 financial advisors with prior military experience running branches across the country. The firm is growing, adding branches and seeking new financial advisors who are interested in operating an entrepreneurial office with the support and benefits of one of the oldest and largest firms in the financial industry.

In addition to CivilianJobs.com, G.I. Jobs has recognized Edward Jones and the FORCES program on its 2014 "Military Friendly Employer" list, and Military Times EDGE ranked the firm on its 2013 "Best for Vets" ranking. This year, Edward Jones also was named a top "100 Best Company to Work For" by FORTUNE magazine, ranking No. 4 on that prestigious list. The firm was also named a top firm for training on Training Magazine's Top 125 list.
