Governor Parnell to Sign Crime Bill, Flint Hills Legislation


June 10, 2013, Juneau, Alaska – Governor Sean Parnell will sign several pieces of legislation in Fairbanks and North Pole on Tuesday. The governor will sign his comprehensive crime bill that enhances protections for victims and survivors. Senate Bill 22 toughens penalties for sex trafficking crimes, improves investigative tools, and creates stronger sentencing provisions.

Governor Parnell will also visit Flint Hills Refinery in North Pole where he will sign Senate Bill 86 which extends the State’s contract for royalty oil with Flint Hills Refinery. The governor will also sign Senate Bill 65 which updates Alaska’s trust and estate laws.

The governor will sign House Bill 94 at the Santa Claus House. The bill names the Chena Flood Channel bridges after Conrad “Con” Miller and Nellie Miller. The bill also designates a portion of East Blue Lupine Drive in Wasilla as the Lowell J. Ray Memorial Corridor.
