FAI Air Camping Park
The shower and restroom facility at Fairbanks International Airport’s Airpark is unusable due to a leaking underground water pipe. The shower and restroom are expected to be back online by the summer of 2014. FAI apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause.
An alternate restroom remains at the airpark. An alternate shower and restroom is located at FAI's pilot's lounge at the base of the FAA Air Traffic Control tower.
It is not economically feasible to reconnect the water line to the water utility. This is due to the length of the pipe and lack of adequate water circulation in the winter which results in high maintenance costs and/or unexpected freeze ups. As a result, FAI plans to convert the supply line to a water holding tank and will add a regulator to prevent accidents that left the shower “on” for lengthy periods.
Thank you for your patience.
