Energy Challenge Winners to Be Recognized For Savings

Small Changes Save Local Businesses Thousands on Their Utility Bills

WHAT: Winners and participants of the second annual Great Alaska Energy Challenge will be recognized for the energy savings they achieved over the course of this five month competition. The Great Alaska Energy Challenge is a friendly competition that connects local businesses with state-run efficiency programs, and teaches them ways to reduce their energy consumption. Through extensive energy efficiency and conservation efforts, this year’s Challenge participants saved the equivalent of nearly 1,000 gallons of diesel fuel combined. 

WHO: Awards will be presented to the following businesses for their outstanding achievements in this year’s Challenge:

Biggest Change – Heat: NORTECH (Fairbanks office)

Lowest Use – Heat: NORTECH (Fairbanks Office)

Biggest Change – Electricity: The Nature Conservancy

Lowest Use – Electricity: Bosco’s Comics (The Batcave)
