Douglas Oles of Oles Morrison Rinker & Baker, LLP Elected Honorary Fellow of the Canadian College of Construction Lawyers
SEATTLE, Washington, June 27, 2013 – The Canadian College of Construction Lawyers, an association of Canada's leading construction practitioners, has recently announced the election of Seattle-based attorney Douglas Oles as an honorary fellow of the organization. He is only the fourth U.S. attorney and the first in the western states to receive this honor.
He is a senior partner with Oles Morrison Rinker & Baker, LLP, one of the Northwest’s most respected law firms with practice areas in construction, government contracts, business law and commercial litigation.
Earlier this year, Oles was selected for inclusion in the Best Lawyers in America® 2013, (Copyright 2012 by Woodward/White, Inc., of Aiken, SC), the most respected peer-review publication in the legal profession. He first appeared on the Best Lawyers list in 2003.
For more than 25 years, Oles has concentrated his practice on helping clients avoid and resolve disputes on complex contracts relating to construction, supply, real estate development and intellectual property licensing. He has prepared, negotiated and litigated claims resulting in recoveries in excess of $100 million on major projects performed for government agencies and private owners. Most of his work has been in the western United States and Alaska, but assignments have ranged from Europe to South America.
“We are delighted to have one of our partners honored by this internationally renowned organization of distinguished construction lawyers,” said Bob Burke, one of the firm’s managing partners.
With offices in Washington, Alaska and California, Oles Morrison represents both national and international clients on projects in the United States and abroad. The firm’s attorneys, with the assistance of a seasoned team of in-house consultants and paralegals, provide advice on issues arising from requests for proposals and invitations to bid, through protests, requests for equitable adjustments, disputes and terminations.
