Anchorage Chamber Graduates 23 Business Professionals from Leadership Program

Anchorage, AK – The Anchorage Chamber of Commerce recently graduated 23 exceptional business professionals from its five-month Leadership & Executive Advancement Program, or LEAP, culminating with a graduation ceremony on June 13 at the Hilton Anchorage Hotel.

LEAP provides members looking to further their leadership skills with progressive curriculum and hands on tools that cultivates their future professional goals.
This extensive leadership program was designed for middle-management members of Anchorage Chamber businesses looking to pursue a higher degree of professional standards.
Each student completed ten courses, worked together with a local non-profit on a Business Enhancement Project and completed a handful of assignments to graduate the program.

Graduates of the 2013 LEAP class include Casey Anderson, Alaska Mobility Coalition; Jennifer Bernard, NeighborWorks Anchorage; Robyn Burch, National Park Service; Joseph Coslett, JBER Richardson; Kea Cuaresma, Anchorage Daily News; Suzie Deuser, Matanuska Electric Association; Leigha Ducharme, Totem Ocean Trailer Express; Robin Garrett, Alaska Trucking Association; Keith Granberry, Millrock Resources; Sarah Hall, RIM Architects; Tami Hill, Automated Laundry Systems & Supply; Geri Keenan, Cook Inlet Tribal Council; Heidi Kelley, Matanuska Electric Association; Manny Lewis, AT&T; Kim Marek, Anchorage Concert Association; Roxie Mayberry, Alaska State Fair, Inc.; Sue Perrins, NeighborWorks Anchorage; David Porter, Mikunda Cottrell & Co., Inc.; Anthony Rouen, KeyBank; Jess Rude, American Red Cross; Josh Sherwood, Green Star; Bikky Shrestha, Mikunda Cottrell & Co., Inc.; and Erin Wilson, Aleutian Housing AuthorityThe students were chosen based on their business interest and current accomplishments. to attend business camps this summer.

The students were chosen based on their business interest and current accomplishments.

“All of these professionals have shown they have what it takes to become the next business leaders of Anchorage,” said Andrew Halcro, president of the Anchorage Chamber. “We are proud of their accomplishments and hope that LEAP gave them the skills and confidence they need to fuel their professional spirits.”

This is the third Anchorage Chamber LEAP class to graduate since the program’s inception in 2011.
BP once again sponsored the class with more than 15 local leaders from various member companies presenting the curriculum during the semester.

The next semester will be held January 10 to May 30, 2014. Enrollment will begin in September.
